The Celtics showed no rust this afternoon for a team that had not played in over a week. It had been seven days to the day since they swept the Indiana Pacers, and they picked up right where they left off. Kyrie Irving continued his great playoff play scoring 26 points and dishing out 11 assists. Al Horford had a strong game on both ends of the floor adding 20 points and 11 rebounds. Jaylen Brown added 19 points and Gordon Hayward finished with 13 points.
On Tuesday night the Oklahoma City Thunder suffered their third straight first round playoff series loss. Damian Lillard was able to knock down a contested 37 foot shot, sidestepping past Paul George and Russell Westbrook into the second round. As soon as the buzzer sounded the questions immediately started swirl around the Thunder locker room. Is Russell Westbrook at the end of his prime, and on the decline? Does Westbrook have the worst contract in the NBA? Can you win a championship with Russell Westbrook? Is it time that the Thunder turn the page and move on from Billy Donovan?
Pascal Siakam’s dominant play so far in the playoffs has the Raptors looking like they are ready to put their past playoff failures behind them and make their first NBA finals in franchise history. He is second in scoring behind Kawhi Leonard averages 24 points per game. Siakam is leading the team in rebounding at ten a game and is also leading the team in minutes played averaging 40 minutes a game.
