Part one of this three-part series featured the Atlanta Hawks and the Chicago Bulls. For part two we are going to head out west and discuss the New Orleans Pelicans and the Sacramento Kings.

Little Caesars Arena in Detroit was the site for the opening night of the Ice Cube’s Big 3 three on three basketball league. The league is starting to really gain momentum, and Season 3 is touted to be the best so far. Several big-name former NBA players will be joining the league this year. Gilbert Arenas,  Jason Terry, Lamar Odom, Josh Smith, Will Bynum, Anthony Morrow, and Mario Chalmers just to name a few.

When Kevin Durant made his finals debut Monday night you could not have asked for a better start. The “Hamptons 5” was reunited and the Warriors appeared to be back to their dominant self. Golden State Warriors part owner Pat Stevens took his hand and shoved Lowry. Once again “White Privilege” was on full display, but this time it was at the forefront of the NBA Finals. NBA elected to fine him $500’000 dollars and ban him from the NBA for a year.

Five Star recruit R.J. Hampton appeared on the ESPN morning show “Get Up” to discuss his basketball future, but what came next shocked the basketball world. Hampton announced that he would bypass college and would be signing a professional contract with the New Zealand Breakers, of the NBL. The Australian league has become a well respected league in recent years with players like Andrew Bogut of the Warriors, Terrance Ferguson of the Oklahoma City Thunder both playing in the league. Ferguson passed on college as well and elected to play in the league.

NBA Basketball: Klay Thompson Gets Robbed of $30M Dollars.

Thursday marked the day that many NBA stars had circled on their calendars. The All-NBA teams were named, and for stars like Klay Thompson who will be free agents this summer $30 million dollars were at stake. During a press conference after the Warriors morning practice, Thompson received the news that he did not make one of the three All-NBA teams.

When the NBA Draft takes place this coming join Ja Morant name should be called first as the number one pick in this year’s draft. Morant just finished an impressive sophomore campaign averaging 24.5 points, 5.7 rebounds, and 10 assists which led the nation. He won the Bob Cousy award, which recognizes college basketball’s best point guard. He also was named a consensus first All-American, and the Ohio Valley Player of the Year.

Oklahoma City Thunder: Westbrook Under Goes Knee Procedure Probably Misses Preseason

According to ESPN’s Royce Young All-Star guard, and one of the best players in the league Russell Westbrook had arthroscopic surgery on his right knee. It was done to help relieve some stiffness in the knee. He will be re-evaluate in four weeks by doctors. No date has been set on his return, and he probably will miss the pre-season.
